Sense8 fans can rejoice in the knowledge that their favorite show is coming back with a new Christmas Special and a second season.

Sense8 Christmas Special

Netflix announced a two-hour Christmas special will be available around the globe just before Christmas Eve. They described the special in a recent press release:

“The journey continues as these eight singular hearts and minds weave in and out of each other’s lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself.”

The special launches Dec. 23 at 3:01 a.m. ET.

Season 2 Premiere Dates

Season 2 will launch 10 new episodes starting on May 5, according to Netflix.

The second season will continue the story of Capheus (Toby Onwumere), Kala (Tina Desai), Lito (Miguel Angel Silvestre), Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Riley (Tuppence Middleton) , Sun (Donna Bae), Will (Brian J. Smith) and Wolfgang (Max Riemelt). Netflix did not reveal a lot of details about the plot. They only said that the characters will learn to survive and live with one another “against all odds.”

The show was created by Lana and Lilly Wachowsk and J. Michael Straczynski, and it premiered on Netflix in 2015.
