Texas Father Sean Copeland And Son Brodie Copeland Among 84 Dead In Nice Terror Attack

A Texas father and his young son were among the 84 who were killed in the senseless attack in Nice, France, on Thursday night.

Sean Copeland, 51, and his 11-year-old son Brodie had been celebrating Bastille day in Nice with the rest of their family that was on a European vacation. The two were killed when a truck drove through a crowd of revelers waiting for the fireworks to go off during the annual celebration. French officials are investigating whether or not it was a terrorist attack.

The Copeland family released a statement confirming the deaths of both Sean and Brody.

“We are heartbroken and in shock over the loss of Brodie Copeland, an amazing son and brother who lit up our lives, and Sean Copeland, a wonderful husband and father. They are so loved,” the statement reads.

The Copeland’s vacation had started off in Pamplona, then moved on to Barcelona before they traveled to Nice, family friend Jess Davis told The Statesman. “This unthinkable and unfair act of terror took Sean and Brodie from the world far too soon,” Davis said. “It is a terrible loss.

“This is a very difficult time for our family,” Sean Copeland’s brother Troy told NBC News.
