Gwen Stefani Responds To Backlash To April Fool’s Pregnancy Prank
Gwen Stefani pulled a trick on her fans on April Fool’s Day, posting a sonogram picture on Instagram suggesting that she and boyfriend, Blake Shelton, are expecting. She captioned the photo, “It’s a girl,” with heart emojis.

Stefani may have been addressing the In Touch Magazine rumors earlier this week, quoting an anonymous source who claimed that Stefani is in the process of freezing her eggs so that she could have a chance of conceiving a daughter.
The April Fool’s joke by the “No Doubt” singer was not appreciated by some of her fans. One Instagram user wrote, “So insensitive to everyone suffering infertility issues! Totally gone off you now @gwenstefani,” while another commented, “@gwenstefani this is tacky and in poor taste. No longer a fan! Shame on you!” another commenter wrote.”
Stefani, however, agreed that “fake pregnancy announcements aren’t funny,” and made clear that her point was to address her fertility rumors.
Shelton also responded to the backlash on Friday. When asked about the negative comments in reaction to the prank, he tweeted, “I ignore self appointed do gooders who bitch and moan on social media.”
