With his One Direction days behind him, Zayn Malik has set a release date for his new solo single “Pillow Talk,” and it drops Friday, Jan. 29. He tweeted the announcement via his personal Twitter along with a shirtless photo.

There are very few details about the new single or his forthcoming album. Peter Edge, chairman and CEO of Malik’s new label RCA, said his music “doesn’t feel like choreographed pop.” Malik has only hinted that it has an R&B edge.

Malik left his bandmates of One Direction back in March to find his own sound. During an interview with The Fader, he said, “Whenever I would suggest something, it was like it didn’t fit us. There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn’t convinced with what we were selling. I wasn’t 100 percent behind the music. It wasn’t me.”

The solo artist did tell The Sunday Times that his new song is “so pure, so dirty and raw” and that it’s “pretty black and white about what it’s about.” Malik also added, “Everybody has sex, and it’s something people want hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very BIG part of life! And you don’t want to sweep it under the carpet. It has to be talked about.”

According to Malik’s fan page, a video will also be released the some day the single drops, “#Update | Zayn’s music video for his new single, “Pillow Talk” will air for the very first time next Friday, Jan. 29th!”
