Moesha co-stars Countess Vaughn and Brandy were best friends in the ’90s sitcom but never best friends in real life. This was all put to rest when Vaughn wrote an emotional open letter to Brandy, apologizing for her actions from 20 years ago.

Talking to Vibe in 1998 for a cover story on Brandy, the 36-year-old singer/actress stated that the two girls were not on good terms even though they looked like best friends on the sitcom. “I think she’s very funny, very talented,” she said. “And she’s called me a bitch to my face. She said, ‘I’m the reason why the show is successful, bitch.’ In front of a lot of people. And I looked at her like, Wow. I couldn’t say nothing about her because I wasn’t about to. She knows. She wakes up and looks at herself in the mirror and gets disgusted. I don’t.”

It seems much has changed in 20 years as when Brandy received the message from Vaughn, she posted a throwback photo on her Instagram of the two girls with the caption, “@countessdvaughn we still here!!! Thank you again for your heart today.”
