Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli was detained in her native country Wednesday on suspicion of tax evasion.

Bar Refaeli Tax Evasion

Refaeli is accused of neglecting to report millions of dollars of income, as well as additional thousands in what the court is calling “celebrity benefits.” She was detained Thursday on the allegations and subsequently released on $193,000 bail, reported the BBC.

The court is alleging that Refaeli attempted to hide that she was residing in Israel in order to avoid paying taxes, living in Tel Aviv apartments registered in the names of her mother and brother. The model is additionally accused of failing to report payments in the form of the use of luxury vehicles, including a Range Rover and Lexus.

Refaeli has denied any wrongdoing.

“There is no drama. In the end, this is just a civil dispute,” her lawyer said in a statement. “No one cheated anyone else. It will all clear up soon.”

Refaeli, who has modeled for Gap, Moët & Chandon, True Religion and Lucky Brand, currently hosts The X Factor Israel. She famously was in a longterm relationship with A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio, but is now married to Israeli billionaire Adi Ezra.

Due to the tax evasion allegations, Refaeli cannot leave Israel for 180 days. If she wishes to leave Israel and recoup her passport, she will have to pay $64,000 and receive the permission of authorities.
