Tori Spelling has filed a lawsuit against Benihana after suffering third-degree burns at one of the chain’s restaurants.

Spelling filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court Wednesday, alleging that the Benihana in Encina, Calif., is responsible for the burns she suffered at the establishment earlier this year. She claims that she “sustained deep second- and third-degree burn injuries requiring hospitalization and surgery” and resulting in a “loss of earning capacity” in addition to medical expenses, according to ABC News.
The former Beverly Hills: 90210 star is seeking more than $25,000 in damages.
On Easter Sunday back in April, Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott took their four kids to Benihana. While inside the restaurant, Spelling tripped and fell, catching herself on one of the hot grills.
“Tori hadn’t even started to eat, when she slipped and fell,” a source told People at the time. “Not thinking, she grabbed onto the side of the hot grill and burned her arm. At the time, it didn’t seem as bad as the doctors told her it was the next day.”
In her lawsuit, Spelling is not just suing the Encino Benihana, but the larger Benihana corporation.
