Pink shut down critics who tried to shame her about her weight after a recent red carpet appearance, where the usually super fit singer flaunted a less toned figure.

Pink Defends Herself Against Haters

Pink attended the John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball Saturday night to support her friend, Dr. Maggie DiNome, and the singer stunned in a low-cut black gown. It appears that critics were not happy seeing Pink with a bit of a fuller figure, and their body shaming tactics pushed the singer to speak out against the haters.

Pink shared a response on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of her statement with fans:

“I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight.… While I admit that that dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about me. I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either…. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake.”

In fact, Pink has been known to train expertly for her concerts – where she frequently performs various acrobatics while singing live. And the singer, who has been somewhat absent from the spotlight, at least as a pop artist, as of late, appears to have taken a break from the extreme workouts and acrobatics. Pink added that her husband, Carey Hart, loves her fuller figure too. “My hubby says ‘it’s just more to love baby’ (and then I smack his hand off my booty cause we’re in a supermarket),” the singer wrote.

In fact, Hart also shared a photo of the couple at the event earlier in the day, joking, “Must note that me in a suit w/ a shaved head and neck tattoos, looks like im going to court. Wife was looking great though! [sic]”

In addition to sharing a sweet photo with her husband, Pink also tweeted an adorable photo from when she was getting ready from the benefit with her young daughter, Willow, writing, “Willow said to me the other day whilst grabbing my belly – ‘mama–why r u so squishy?’ And I said…’b/cuz I’m happy baby.”

Pink did share one example of a hateful tweet she received, but seems to be focusing on the positive by re-tweeting photos and messages from supporting fans sharing their own bodies and self-love stories.
