Kelly Osbourne Quits ‘Fashion Police’ Following Giuliana Rancic’s Remarks About Zendaya’s Hair

Kelly Osbourne Quits Fashion Police
“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!’s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers,” E! confirmed Friday. “Fashion Police will return, as scheduled, on Friday, March 30th at 9:00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement.”
Prior to E!’s statement, a source had said that Osbourne had been contemplating leaving the show since Joan Rivers passed away last summer, which indicates that Rancic’s controversy helped her make a decision.
“Kelly stayed on the show after the beloved Joan Rivers passed away, but nothing has been the same since,” the source told the Daily Mail. “The chemistry has not been the same between the hosts since the show came back on air and Kelly knows it’s time to move on.”
On Monday’s Fashion Police following the Academy Awards, Rancic had quipped of Zendaya’s dreadlocks, “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed.”
After Zendaya penned a statement on Instagram taking aim an Rancic’s insensitive and irresponsible comments, Osbourne took to Twitter to vent about the situation, and threatening to leave the show.
As for Rancic, she addressed the situation in a video message, profusely apologizing to Zendaya and to all those offended by her remarks.
