Ashley Smith went for an edgier look at the launch party for the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue at Marquee in Manhattan Tuesday night.

Smith wore a long-sleeved black mini dress with a deep v-neck on the red carpet. Smith completed her look with a gold box clutch that matched the gold embellishments on her dress and black pumps. She wore her hair down and slicked back behind her ears.

During the Swim City party, Smith posted a video on Instagram, writing, “Things are happening at #swimcity event in NYC.#VIP @si_swimsuit #marqueenyc.”

Smith is one of the seven rookies for the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Prior to landing a gig in the hotly anticipated annual edition, Smith appeared in the pages of Marie Claire France, Singles Magazine, W Magazine, Elle Italia and Harper’s Bazaar Singapore.
