Johnny Depp and Amber Heard walked hand-in-hand on the red carpet for the UK premiere of Mordecai in London, quieting rumors of an impending split.

Depp, who stars as the titular character in Mordecai, looked as happy as ever with Heard, 28, at his side. Smiling and laughing along the red carpet, the two both looked sharp in suits. Depp, 51, wore a gray suit with a burgundy shirt and matching pocket square. Heard, meanwhile, wore a black suit that featured wide legged trouser pants and a tailored jacket with satin lapels.

Prior to the premiere, rumors were swirling that Depp and Heard’s engagement was on the rocks.

“There is no rush to marry at the moment,” says a longtime friend of Depp told People magazine in December. “Johnny is crazy in love with Amber, but there is turmoil in the relationship.”

“Amber flirts and has many different kinds of relationships,’ the source added. ‘She is not really ready to settle down.”

Earlier in 2014, there were rumors that Heard’s ongoing friendship with ex-girlfriend Tasya Van Ree was becoming a point of contention between the couple.

Mordecai, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor, hits theaters Friday, Jan. 23.
