Celebrity BFFs: The Next Generation

Oprah and Gayle, Courtney and Jenn, Ben and Matt, celebrity BFFs are nothing new in the world of Hollywood. It makes sense to befriend costars and people you frequently see at industry events, but for some reason it’s always fun to see favorite celebs playing together in the real world as well.

That’s why we rounded up our top five favorite new celebrity BFFs. Here’s to hoping that they don’t end up like the formerly inseparable pair, Paris and Nicole.

5. Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart
Besides being child stars, these two have a lot in common. They’ve starred in two films together (Twilight: New Moon, and The Runaways), both are a little camera shy when it comes to paparazzi, and both have developed a little angsty edge now that they’re in their late teens.
“It’s amazing,” Dakota says. “She’s become one of my best friends. We’re really close. I think it’s really great working with your friends, and to be completely open with someone and to have no defense mechanism, you know what I mean? Just completely open with that person. I love that – especially for this film.”

4. Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez

Ok, so this may not be totally new, but the tween idols met last year and they’ve become fast friends. Gomez and Swift are famously praised for being so down to earth so it makes sense that they’ve gotten close. Last July, Taylor sent a large floral arrangement to the Disney set in honor of Gomez’s 17th birthday. In April, the country star uploaded this 5 minute video of her and her friends and family. 3. Adam Levine and Jake Gyllenhaal
This scruffy new pairing developed recently and the two were spotted having a low-key boys night out at L.A.’s Las Palmas last week. According to People, Gyllenhaal and Levine simply enjoyed each other’s company and "didn’t put much effort into snagging girls."

2. Christina Aguilera and Kim Kardashian
You may find this pair a bit unlikely, but the two have actually been inseparable, spotted together all over the country. Most recently, both were spotted in Miami lounging poolside over this past weekend. "Spent the day by the pool w the girls all day! Now doin a little shopping! So happy to just spend quality time w my friends. Love u guys!" Kim tweeted on Saturday. Kim and Christina were also spotted earlier this month in New York at Christina’s release party for her latest album, Bionic.

1. Paris Hilton and Snooki
The two met at the MTV Movie Awards, in which Snooki interviewed Hilton on the the red carpet and the love fest has not stopped since. The two were spotted together at Katy Perry’s after party, and again at Trousdale, a trendy club in L.A.
The two have been having a twitter back and forth complete with Twitpics.

It seems as if the veteran tabloid target has taken little Snooks under her wing in case she decides to take her stardom to the next level and the other side of the country.

"I was just giving her advice," Hilton told US Weekly. "I just told her to remain the same sweet girl [she is] and not let anything affect her; be strong and don’t pay attention.
