The young artist began his musical career at 14, starting out in a hardcore local band before taking on the world on a tour of the world. Q: What is your favorite childhood memory? - WendyLowery

Q: Who or what inspires you? - Rmj7

What inspires me I would say is my life experience. It’s kind of like telling a story. It’s autobiographical. You know what I mean?

Q: Who are the top artists that you listen to? - Rmj7

Everything man, literally. People who inspire me are Prince, Lil Wayne, Journey, Kate Perry.

Q: How did you get started with your music career? - Uinterview User

Well, I was about 14, well actually I was 14. I was playing in a local hardcore band and by the time I was 17. I left home and left a note for my mom and I went on a tour and I got to go to a lot of countries. I was definitely influenced by a lot of different things. You know, in a way I really wouldn’t consider myself a rapper, it’s hardly what I do. Yeah, I rap but my music to me is really a different mix of everything; there are many different cultures and genres put into one, so I don’t really necessarily consider myself a rapper at all. Yeah, so basically I got my start at 14, I toured at around 17. I kept touring. At about 18 or 19, I decided to go solo and bring my own vision to life.

Q: How did you get signed with Def Jam Records? - Uinterview User

Well, I put out a mix tape on the internet and I started pushing it into the streets, it got a lot of interest. I was flying out but I ended up coming to California. Yeah, a lot of people like Def Jam helped to put my vision where I wanted it to, didn’t try to change me or anything or anything like that.

Q: You write your own raps. How does that work? - Uinterview User

Yeah, I’m writing my raps. They are based on all my influences. All my lyrics are like an autobiography. I’ll sit down and I usually come up with a concept about stuff I went through and things I’m going through, and I just write it down you know; whatever inspires me.

Q: Do you ever write raps that you’ve hated or immediately discard? - Uinterview User

Ummm…. no. When I sit down and write, man, I mean I definitely have songs that I like way more than others but everything that I write is like a baby to me, it’s like a child. It’s my creation, so I never discard it, no.

Q: Where does your name come from? - Uinterview User

Well, my momma named me Baby Ethan and because of that my homies started calling me Baby E, and it was just a nickname going on. When I started rapping, I just went with it.
