Now that we're knee-deep in Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor, it's time to start thinking about what will unfold when it's the ladies' turn to pick and choose again. Emily Maynard, 25, who had her heart broken by infamous Bachelor Brad Womack, 38, has been announced as the star of Season 8's The Bachelorette.

After Maynard and Womack's highly publicized split last summer, the newly single mom of six-year-old daughter Ricki was briefly rumored to be dating Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey, 31. But now it looks like reports that the Charlotte native was "just having fun" were correct, as she is on the market again and looking for love.

Initially Maynard was hesitant about being the eighth Bachelorette, before she had a "change of heart" about the matter, reports Us Weekly. The blonde belle is finally ready to find "the one," as a source close to her revealed. "She's looking for a man — not a little boy," the friend said.

Maynard also didn't want to uproot her daughter for the show, so the show decided to come to her. The eighth season of The Bachelorette will take place in Charlotte, North Carolina. "The guys will be flying to her. We're switching things up a bit," an insider said. The new season will begin filming in March.
