VIDEO: Joss Whedon Predicts That Romney Victory Would Lead To Zombie Apocalypse
For what seems like forever, Democratic pundits have warned voters about the ills of a Mitt Romney presidency, should he win out on November 6. Among those are the repeal of Obamacare, an attack on women’s reproductive rights and an economy favoring only the wealthiest one percent. Last night however, writer-director Joss Whedon, released a video urging people to be ready of something much more terrifying should the former Massachusetts governor is victorious — the coming of the Zombie Apocalypse.
From his serene, sunlit kitchen, Whedon argues that Romney’s policies will “guarantee poverty, unemployment, disease, overpopulation, rioting; all crucial elements in creating a nightmare zombie wasteland.” He also mentions that in the event of such an apocalyptic backdrop, you should stick with people who can “run, fight, make explosives out of household objects or who especially do parkour of any kind … 'unless they read Ayn Rand,'” no doubt a nod to the author who is believed to be a great inspiration to conservative principles.
Finally, Whedon asks if we are ready, because he certainly knows Romney is. “He’s not afraid to face a ravening, grasping horde of subhumans — ‘cause that’s how he sees poor people already." Whedon then asks the viewer to stock up on canned goods, going to his cupboard and revealing he is practicing what he preaches.
Many celebrities have done what they believe to be serious videos expressing their concerns over the election. Chuck Norris released a video this past September in which he predicted 1000 years of darkness, should Barack Obama be elected to a second term.
