Naomi Campbell Mugged In Paris

Elite model Naomi Campbell was reportedly attacked and robbed by “thugs” in the streets of Paris.

The mugging took place as Campbell, 42, attempted to hail a cab. She suffered a torn ligament due to the assault and has been recuperating using crutches and a wheelchair, according to The New York Post.

“It was terrifying. Naomi believes that the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone,” claimed a source to the Post.

Campbell’s leg injury was treated by J. Richard Steadman, an esteemed orthopedic surgeon who has treated athletes like Alex Rodriguez. Vladamir Doronin, Campbell’s longtime billionaire boyfriend, reportedly set up the treatment and is looking to increase the security around his model girlfriend.

In past years, Campbell has been on the delivering end of assault. In 2006, she pled guilty to hitting her maid in the head with a cellphone, and in 2008 she served 200 hours of community service for attacking two police officers in Heathrow Airport.

The recuperating model can soon be seen on television on her new show The Face – a model competition series that’s slated to be America’s Next Top Model meets The Voice.
