RECAP: 'The Bachelor' Sean Lowe Sees Tierra Reign Another Day
In last night's The Bachelor Sean Lowe revealed his weekly game plans. "My goal going into last week was to make sure that the girls felt comfortable with me," he said in his first confessional. "This week I want to make sure that the girls trust me."
He started off trying to earn the ladies' trust by taking Selma, known heel-wearing indoor girl, to Joshua Tree National Park for some rock climbing. "I got the limo, and then I got the jet — and then [sigh] he took the Iraqi to a desert," groaned Selma. "I do not do well in heat. At all… I am so disappointed."
While she may have been disappointed, she rallied her inner athlete and scaled the rock face without breaking a sweat, as trusty Sean brought up the rear calling after her, "Your form looks unbelievable." After treating his 1st class-accustomed date to a dinner in a trailer park, he got shut down for a kiss on religious grounds. Giving Selma a hug and a rose, he's optimistic that maybe she'll change her mind next time around.
The week's group date entailed a trip to a roller derby rink. If the women looked a little unsteady in the sand for beach volleyball, they were downright incompetent in roller skates. Again, there's nothing like proving you can be trusted than strapping your dates in mobile footwear and basically having them fight to the emergency room for you. Amanda, radiating with false bravado, managed to convince her fellow bachelorettes that she was a seasoned skater – until she found out that karma was her jaw hitting a roller rink floor. "It could be a broken jaw. You need to go to the hospital," a paramedic observed.
This accident came after Sarah tearfully opened up to Sean, "I don't have great balance and I don't have two arms to prop myself back up quickly," she said. "In moments like this, I just want to be normal." He had given her a trite "you can do it" speech, but now that ambulances were involved he decided, "Let's just go old school and have a free skate instead!"
The Tierra show was up next. After falling (throwing herself) down the stairs last week, she had another ruse up her sleeve. This time, she just went hysterical, seeking out Sean just to tell him how terrible it is to see him with other girls. Instead of finding those other girls (presumably less unhinged and manipulative) he gave Tierra a rose. Tierra, simply put, is winning.
Sean’s final one-on-one date was with Leslie H. The outing was dubbed the Pretty Woman date, as it paid homage to Julia Robert’s breakout film. Sean mused that it’s every woman’s dream to be taken on a shopping spree on Rodeo Drive like her character. Let’s all hope he doesn’t also think it’s every woman’s dream to be a call girl getting wifed by a rather presumptuous client. Anyway, once Sean decorates her with all things becoming a woman of sophistication and class, they have a romantic dinner. Unfortunately, as it turns out, all the trappings of romance failed to spark any feeling in Sean’s heart.
Leslie H. becomes the Pretty Woman-wronged during the rose ceremony, as Sean believed that, “the connection just isn't there." Injured Amanda didn’t earn any affection from Sean either, as she too went home without a rose. That leaves Catherine, Desiree, Lindsay, Lesley, Robyn, AshLee, Sarah, Jackie, Daniella, Tierra and Selma returning for next week.
