Michelle Obama Performs 'Evolution Of Mom Dance' With Jimmy Fallon [Video]
Michelle Obama took to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to dance a montage of classic mom moves with the host.
The First Lady appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show on Friday, in which her short dance sketch with him aired right before she sat down to chat. Fallon, holding his own alongside the rhythm-blessed FLOTUS, was dressed for the occasion in a wig and mom-worthy duds. Their “The Evolution of Mom Dancing” was a spoof on the YouTube sensation “Evolution of Dance,” which has 200 million views. After the clip aired, the First Lady dished on her husband President Obama’s dance moves. She gives him a B for having “pretty good moves.”
However, what she was really there to talk about was her “Let’s Move” campaign, which began three years ago. Michelle Obama will be heading to Mississippi on Wednesday to highlight healthy school lunches with Rachael Ray. “Just a few years ago when we launched 'Let’s Move' Mississippi was identified as the least healthy state in the United States,” she told Fallon. “And just in the last year, the obesity rate for children has declined by 13%."
"We've really changed the conversation in this country. When we started, there were a lot of people in this country who would have never thought that childhood obesity was a health crisis," she told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts on Tuesday. "But now we're starting to see some movement on this issue. Our kids are eating better at school. They're moving more. And we're starting… to see a change in the trends. We're starting to see rates of obesity coming down like never before."
On Sunday, the First Lady made a surprise appearance at the 85th Academy Awards. Streamed in via satellite, the FLOTUS announced Argo as the winner of the Best Picture Oscar.
