Game of Thrones began the latest episode, "Kissed by Fire," with Jaime (Nikolaj-Coster-Waldau) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) at Harrenhal in the custody of Lord Bolton. Displaying some compassion, Lord Bolton informs Jaime that the Lannisters won the Battle of Blackwater and offers him medical attention for his dismembered hand. Afterwards, Jaime and Brienne take a bath together, that allows Jaime to become figuratively naked as he relays to Brienne the reason he committed regicide so many years ago.

Jamie reveals that he had slain the Mad King with his sword in order to protect the people of King's Landing. He informs Brienne that the late king had collected mass amounts of wildfire and dispersed it across the city. When he realized he would soon lose his reign of King's Landing, the Mad King ordered Jamie to kill Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance), and for his pyromancer to light the wildfire and burn the city to ashes. Therefore, it becomes clear that Jamie's dishonor was caused by an act of great heroics.

For the Lannisters, "Kissed By Fire" was all about upcoming nuptials – none of which are eagerly agreed to. Tywin, finally wise to the Tyrell's schemes to ascend to power, decides to propose marriage arrangements that will derail their plot. He orders Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) to wed Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), who is twice his height and half his age; and Cersei (Lena Headey) to marry Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones), Margaery's (Natalie Dormer) gay brother who found himself in bed with his sparring partner earlier in the episode.

Meanwhile, it's time for The Hound (Rory McCann) to duel Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer) for his trial. Although Beric tries to use the Hound's fear of fire to outmatch him, he ends up killed. However, one of Beric's men hisses an incantation to the Lord of Light and brings him back to life – although slightly diminished by what's revealed to be his sixth brush with death. Arya (Maisie Williams) is notably angered that the Hound prevailed.

Beyond the Wall, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and Ygritte playfully duel with one another. But when Ygritte (Rose Leslie) steals his sword, she reveals her intention to break his vow of chastity. She lures him into a cave where a playful scene unfolds, culminating in Jon Snow losing his virginity.

Robb Stark (Richard Madden) clashes with Lord Karstark (John Stahl) when the latter is revealed to have hired five henchmen to execute the former's Lannister hostages. Exacting is will for retribution and vengeance, Robb has four members of the murderous gang hung, and then wields a sword to behead Lord Karstark himself. Robb's decisive execution was not without its consequences. As his wife and mother had warned, he loses the support of Karstark's men, and therefore half of his army.
