Robyn Lawley, the 6’2” size 12 Ralph Lauren model, is now becoming the face of a new swimwear line for fuller-figured women.

Not only is Lawley going to be modeling the swimwear, she’s also designing it. Lawley cites the fact that there are limited options for women above a certain size in the swimsuit arena, and that the options that do exist tend to not be fashion forward, as motivations behind the swim fashion endeavor.

“I'd been thinking about it on and off for the past five years. I swim almost daily, and I found most swimwear that came in my size to be boring and unflattering,“ she told Yahoo. “I also couldn't find any bikinis that supported my bust in the surf, or had a high enough rise in the stomach section to be flattering, so the idea was born from my own necessity and grew from there.”

Her work as a model has given her the opportunity to travel around the globe – an advantage when it came to finding design influences. “I'm constantly meeting new people, seeing new art, and living in new cultures," she said. "I visually capture ideas and concepts every day. My dragon fruit one-piece was inspired by my love of food.” She also lists her personality, urban edge, glamour and retro as inspirations.

The swimsuit line will initially offer sizes 8-18, and plans to increase the size range in the future. Though the collection won’t officially be available until August, it’s currently on presale.
