The Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron, was unveiled by franchise director Joss Whedon at Comic Con after Tom Hiddleston, dressed up as his character Loki, introduced footage from Thor: The Dark World.

Though an Avengers sequel was known to be in the works by Marvel Studios, the title of the project had yet to be revealed prior to Whedon’s announcement. In the comic books, Ultron is an indestructible robot with plans to destroy the human race – starting with crime-fighting superhero team The Avengers.

It's already been reported that Fast & Furious actor Vin Diesel is favored for the role of Vision. Vision is a robotic superhero that becomes a member of the Avengers who was invented by Ultron but goes rogue. "Marvel meeting today…," the 45-year-old actor teased on his Facebook page with an old poster of The Avengers in the background. "Only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed."

In addition to Vision, the second The Avengers installment will also feature Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. It’s not been announced who will play the parts in the film. Ultron’s creator, Dr. Henry “Ant-Man” Pym may also be in the forthcoming film.
