Apple unveiled what’s next for their tablet devices at the tech company’s fall event in San Francisco on Tuesday – an iPad Air and the much-anticipated iPad Mini with Retina display.

The iPad Air, Apple’s latest model of their full-sized tablet, maintains its screen size (9.7-inch Retina display with 2048×1536 pixel resolution) while trimming the device’s overall size and weight. At 7.5mm thick, the iPad Air is 20% thinner than the previous model, reported The Verge. It’s also 28% lighter, weighing in at just 1.0 pound. The new iPad retains its screen size via a smaller bezel.

As far an interior specs, the iPad air features the iPhone 5s’ 64-bit A7 processor and M7 motion coprocessor. The software upgrade will make the iPad 8 times faster and equipped with 72 times better graphic performances, according to Apple. Boasting 10 hours of battery life, the iPad Air also has a 5-mexapixel iSight Camera and FaceTime HD front-facing camera.

The upgraded iPad Mini, as expected, will come with the Retina display and the new A7 Apple Chip, according to Apple executive Phil Shiller.

The iPad Air, which will be available Nov. 1, will cost $499 for the 16GB version. The new iPad mini, due out later in November, will cost $399 for the 16 GB version.
