A Pizza Hut in Kermit, West Virginia has been shut down after surveillance video of the manager urinating in the deep kitchen sink was discovered.

The video, which has since been leaked online, clearly shows a man walking over to the sink and urinating before returning to his work. The man has been identified as a Pizza Hut District Manager.

During work hours, the sink is used to clean and wash kitchen utensils.

“First of all, we are embarrassed by the actions of this individual. Pizza Hut has zero tolerance for violations of our operating standards, and the local owner of the restaurant took immediate action and terminated the employee involved,” the Pizza Hut Corporation said in a statement.

According to local news station 13 News, the Mingo County Health Department was made aware of the video and immediately closed the restaurant.

“They’re closed until we do a thorough cleaning on the place and have the reassurance there are safeguards in place,” said Kermit sanitarian Brett Vance.

In their statement, the Pizza Hut Corporation added that video was taken during non-business hours and that they are currently following their company protocols to handle the violation:

“While the isolated incident occurred during non-business hours and did not involve any food tampering, we follow strict safety and handling procedures and the restaurant has since been closed. We apologize to our customers of Kermit, West Virginia and those in our system who have been let down by this situation.”

There is no set date for when the location will be reopened, but 13 News reports that it could take a few weeks.
