Jill Duggar, one of the stars of 19 Kids & Counting, married her fiancé Derick Dillard Saturday, June 22.

Jill Duggar Weds Derick Dillard

Duggar, 23, wed Dillard, 25, at the Cross Church in Springdale, Ark., reported ABC News. Witnessing the nuptials were more than 1,000 family members and friends. Five of Duggars’s sisters served as bridesmaids, while two of her brothers were Dillard’s groomsmen, according to People. Her younger siblings were also made a part of the wedding as flower girls, ring bearers and ushers.

Jim Bob Duggar, Duggar’s father, introduced the newlyweds, and although he couldn’t be happier for them, he was sad to see his first daughter leaving the family home.

"It really hit me that Jill was leaving as she was packing her bag the other night," Jim Bob told People. "We all realized she was really leaving. We are so glad that Derick is an answer to her prayers. It's an emotional time, but a joyful time."

Duggar & Dillard's First Kiss

At the culmination of the wedding ceremony, Dillard kissed the bride – making it the couple’s first kiss. Following Duggar's family’s beliefs, the couple, who began courting in 2013, saved their first kiss for their wedding ceremony.

"I think it is safer and makes it more special to wait to kiss until your wedding day," Duggar, who chose not to hold hands with Dillard until they were engaged, has said. "To save the physical side of your marriage for your wedding day and not going further than you should – we want to have no regrets."

Duggar and Dillard became engaged in April of this year after a year of courtship. Jim Bob Duggar introduced them through email while Dillard was on a missionary trip in Nepal before bringing his daughter to meet her would-be husband three months later.
