President Barack Obama was standing at a voting booth to cast his ballot in Chicago when the fiancé of a young woman standing beside him good-humoredly warned him to keep his hands to himself.

'Don't Touch My Girlfriend'

"Mr. President, don't touch my girlfriend," Chicago resident Mike Jones joked to the President of the United States, according to CNN. In response, Obama quipped, "I really wasn't planning on it," adding to say, “There’s an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason."

Jones’ betrothed Aia Cooper was embarrassed by his shenanigans, saying, “I am sorry, please excuse him. I knew he was going to say something smart, but I didn’t know what he was going to say.”

Obama, having fun with the voters, imagined what Cooper and Jones would be telling their friends after leaving the voting station. “You’ll be going back home talking to your friends about this. 'I can’t believe Mike, he such a fool. I was just mortified. But fortunately, the President was nice about it, so it's alright.'”

When Obama was done voting, he gave Cooper a hug and kiss on the cheek, telling her, “Now, he’s really jealous.”

Afterwards, Cooper reiterated that the kiss was on the cheek, fearing some retribution from First Lady Michelle Obama. "On the cheek, just the cheek — please, Michelle, don't come after me,” she told CNN affiliate WLS-TV. “Just the cheek!"

Prior to voting on Monday, the first day of early voting, Obama had been campaigning for Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn.
