Jerry Seinfeld opened up about his belief that he’s on the autism spectrum in a recent interview.

"I think, on a very drawn out scale, I think I'm on the spectrum," Seinfeld told NBC’s Brian Williams during an interview on Nightly News.

Williams asked the stand-up comedian and sitcom star what were the things about himself that led him to think he’s on the spectrum. Seinfeld, 60, replied, “You are never paying attention to the right things.”

He added, "Basic social engagement is really a struggle. I'm very literal. When people talk to me and they use expressions, sometimes I don't know what they're saying."

Seinfeld doesn’t think that possibly being on the autism spectrum is something that’s held him back, but rather something that just makes him think and look at things differently. "I just think of it as an alternate mindset,” he explained.

Seinfeld is currently promoting the fifth season of his web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Working on the show allows Seinfeld to be around the kind people with whom he's most comfortable – comedians like himself. The comic said, “They’re the only kind of people that I feel completely relaxed around."
