Oscar Isaac stars in the Coen Brother’s newest film Inside Llewyn Davis as down-on-his-luck folksinger Llewyn. Isaac sang and played guitar live throughout filming. “There’s about ten songs in the film and we shot it like a concert film, meaning we did it all live,” Isaac, who was nominated for a Best Actor (Musical Or Comedy) Golden Globe for his performance, told Uinterview exclusively. “There was no playback. There was no lip synching.” The movie, which also stars Carey Mulligan and Justin Timberlake, is set in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1961. “[The film] allowed me to delve into this amazing repertoire of music that I wasn’t aware of, this time before Bob Dylan and after Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, this incredible time that was happening here in New York,” said Isaac.
