Terrence Ross, the 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest winner and current shooting guard/small forward for the Toronto Raptors, sat down with NBA legend and dunk-master Clyde “The Glide” Drexler to discuss some of the philosophy behind a great slam dunk. While Ross is currently on the courts, Drexler is renowned as one of the premiere dunkers of NBA history. So what’s the secret to a great slam dunk? “Well we could tell you, but then we’d have to put you away,” Drexler told Uinterview in this exclusive U Rant. “You know to be a great slam dunker as anyone know, you gotta be able to jump, first of all, you gotta have some creativity, you gotta have the hands to make it happen, ‘cause there’s nothing worse than a guy who can really jump, but he can’t hold onto the ball. And so, at the Sprite Slam Dunk, this year they got some incredible competitors along with Terrence, who’s the defending champion You got three all-stars and so Terrence has really been working on his creativity, trying to up his level of his game, and we’ll get to see all of that on Saturday night.”
