Sony HT-NT5 Soundbar: Reviews & Product Shopping Information

A 2.1 soundbar that looks like a slab of Hershey’s chocolate and a wireless subwoofer make up the HT-NT5 system. The soundbar is 42.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches high laying flat and has a three-way speaker design made up of two mid-range drivers, a high-frequency super tweeter and a secondary tweeter. It can be laid down flat on AV furniture or slung on the wall horizontally or vertically with the two included wall mounts. The subwoofer features a gloss port and is pretty sizeable at 7.5 inches wide and 15 inches tall. There are three HDMI ports that come with the unit. Those ports pack in HDC 2.2 and HDR support for 4K UHD sources. There’s also a USB port on the right side, as well as optical digital input and Ethernet. The system is also compatible with other wireless Sony speaker systems through the SongPal app allowing users to create a multi-room wireless setup. The entire system is operated with a tiny remote or the touch sensitive controls.

Tech Radar noted, “The HT-NT5 is refreshingly musical. With movies, the HT-NT5 offers similar enunciation. While it doesn’t come close to emulating a genuine surround soundstage, it has no problem sounding urgent and exciting.”

It is available for purchase at Amazon for $799.
