During the Scream Queens season premiere last Tuesday night, Stefani Germanotta – aka Lady Gaga – released the music video for her single “Perfect Illusion.” After her much-criticized 2013 album Artpop, the singer came back on September 9 with a brand new song produced by Mark Ronson, BloodPop and Kevin Parker from Tame Impala.

Lady GaGa 2.0? That is what the critics say. Surprisingly, the music video is far from what fans used to seeing. It’s flashy, esthetically plain but very rock ‘n’ roll. We can see the singer going completely mad, swaying her hips and rolling her eyes, in the middle of the desert. The song’s producers make an appearance too in a gigantic crowd which dances around them.

The singer previously teased on Instagram her long-awaited upcoming album called Joanne, with a release date scheduled on Oct. 21. While she co-hosted BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show, she also revealed a collaboration with Florence Welsh, along with other ones featuring Beck, Father John Misty and Josh Homme.
