The English Teacher, directed by Craig Zisk (Weeds, United States of Tara), is an offbeat independent dramedy that attracted a slew of well-respected actor’s to the project. The film will premiere at The Tribeca Film Festival this week.

Julianne Moore stars as Linda Sinclair, a single middle-aged English teacher in the quiet suburban town of Kingston, Pa. When her former student, played by Michael Angarano, returns from New York City with crushed dreams and a daring script, she makes her mind up to aid his ambitions. Recruiting her friend, the school’s drama teacher (Nathan Lane), she hopes to make the script come to life.

Greg Kinear, assumes the role of Angarano’s character Jason Sherwood’s demanding father, who'd rather see his son give up on the pipe dream and follow his footsteps into law school. Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Mirror Mirror) plays a possible love interest to Angarano’s struggling playwrite; Jessica Hecht (Sideways, Friends) plays the school principal. Nikki Blonsky (Hairspray) and Charlie Saxton (Hung) also star.
