Scandal ended last week with the gladiators of Olivia Pope & Associates discovering that former Vice President Chief of Staff Billy Chambers is the mole they’ve all be searching for. This week, in “White Hat’s Back On,” they’re still reeling from the realization and continuing to put the complicated puzzle together.
Scandal returned on Thursday with a faster paced episode than has been seen in recent weeks. Not only are Olivia's Gladiators back on the hunt for Albatross with Huck (Guillermo Diaz) back in action, but the triangle of Olivia (Kerry Washington), Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Mellie (Bellamy Young) finally implodes.
Just because season one of ABC's Scandal, created by Shonda Rhimes — the brain behind Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice — wrapped up in May, doesn't mean that people aren't still talking about star Kerry Washington's Olivia Pope and her extraordinary talents as a political "fixer" in the crisis management industry.
The controversy surrounding the ABC series GCB, which first had to do with objections to its original title, Good Christian Bitches, followed by accusations that it was poking fun at Christians, have finally caught up with it, as ABC has reportedly decided not to renew GCB, starring Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb, Jennifer Aspen, and Annie Potts.
Late to the party by even midseason replacement standards, ABC’s glitteringly high-concept, dazzlingly lowbrow, political intrigue procedural clocks in at a lean seven episodes. It’s a miniseries rather than a full season.
