Last night’s “Heroic Origins” episode of Community was heroic indeed, as it was the first episode of this underwhelming fourth season that has been able to keep my attention. In the latest episode, the study group is trying to study for the history class final, while Abed (Danny Pudi) embarks on yet another parody.
Last night’s Community episode, Intro to Knots, returned to normal, which sadly in season four terms means that it's a show that I can barely sit through. What’s especially depressing is that being able to watch an entire episode of Community these days isn’t just normal, but also a compliment.
After the first two episodes of this season, I thought that Community might turn into another Indiana Jones debacle where I only buy the first three seasons (movies) because, you know, “the fourth one blows.
“You’re like the dark cloud that unites us, or the anti-Winger. You’re the heart of this group. I don’t have a real handle on all this mushy stuff. If I did, then we wouldn’t need you,” Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) told Britta (Gillian Jacobs) when she became recognized as the buzzkill of the group.
According to the Mayan calendar, we have less than 4400 hours left until Doomsday. That’s still plenty of time to pursue a few realistic dreams, make amends with your creators, and find that special someone who satisfies your carnal and psychological needs.
