As much as women all over the world might want Christian Grey from the enormously popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, by fanfiction author-turned-mommy-porn-trailblazer E. L. James, to be real, life just isn't imitating art (art?) this time around, says James' (whose real name is Erika Leonard) husband of over 20 years, Niall Leonard.
The latest news on the 50 Shades of Grey casting front calls on man of the moment, Ryan Gosling, 31, who has recently starred in such critical hits as Blue Valentine; Drive; Crazy, Stupid Love; and The Ides of March, to step into the undoubtedly expensive shoes of Christian Grey from the erotic "mommy porn" novel by E.
If you already thought Ryan Gosling was the perfect man, prepare to be impressed: It seems that Gosling, who starred in 2011's Drive with Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, will now direct his former costar in the lead role of the upcoming How to Catch a Monster, which Gosling also reportedly wrote and will be produced by Drive producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel.
Ryan Gosling (pictured) makes his comedic debut alongside The Office's Steve Carell in this summer's Crazy, Stupid Love. The film, directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, stars Carell as down and out Cal Weaver, who's recently been left by his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) and is unsure of how to get back into the dating game.
