In the premiere of Whitney’s second season, Whitney (Whitney Cummings) and Alex (Chris D'Elia) wreak havoc on their first day of their new life together. When the series left off, the two ran into every possible obstacle in their attempt to get a marriage license.
Whitney made its debut last fall on NBC with a tired premise - one of modern love. Comedian Whitney Cummings plays the titular character, a quirky thirty-something living with her boyfriend, Alex. Through their relationship, and through those of their friends, the show explores questions of matrimony - its importance in a society where it’s no longer taboo to live together outside of marriage - and the contemporary dating scene.
I was first introduced to Whitney Cummings during the 2009 Comedy Central Roast of Joan Rivers. During the roast, I found myself asking the same question that many of the other participating roasters were jokingly asking: "Who the f@#k is Whitney Cummings?" Cummings certainly made her mark that evening when she got up to the podium and absolutely slayed everybody on the dais, sparing no one from her jokes about things far too vulgar to mention on this website.
