In director Tarsem Singh’s campy, Bollywood-inspired adaptation, Julia Robert’s ‘Evil’ Queen borders more along the lines of desperate, but under the dwarves’ watch (here depicted as highway robbers) Snow White is transformed from a helpless damsel into a tougher broad who abandons the lithe depiction we grew up with — but she's still got the ruffles.
