Zooey Deschanel celebrated the birth of her first child on Monday, along with her new husband Jacob Pechenik.

Deschanel welcomed a baby girl with producer Pechenik, who she recently wed in a secret, intimate ceremony.

“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband Jacob Pechenik are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl,” the actress’ rep revealed to ET.

The baby girl was reportedly born in Austin, Tex., in late July, according to the New York Post‘s Page Six.

Deschanel and Pechenik, who produced her upcoming comedy Rock the Kasbah, have been dating since August 2014.

The couple first announced that they were expecting back in January. “Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one,” the actress told People.

Deschanel spoke about not wanting to know their baby’s sex before the birth. “We are going to be surprised. It’s more fun, you know. Make it into a game,” she admitted during her March interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

One week after the couple revealed their roles as future parents, Deschanel’s rep confirmed their engagement.
