WATCH: Kate Gosselin: 'I Regret What I Said To Jon'

Kate Gosselin is defending herself against charges from her ex-husband Jon Gosselin that she's spending too much time starring on TV shows – and not enough time with their eight kids. In addition to appearing on Dancing With The Stars this season, she has an upcoming TV series Twist of Kate on TLC set for this summer. "I don't see another option," Kate told the Today Show Wednesday. "I have eight kids to provide for, and this is a great opportunity."

Her new show will have her traveling the country visiting other women in tough situations. "I wouldn't see the kids anymore than I see them now," she says. "So this is an opportunity that I've grasped onto, and I'm enjoying what I'm doing."

And what about her famously wicked tongue? “I learned that in the heat of the moment I have a sharp tongue, and looking back there are probably a lot of people that I love that I probably spoke to inappropriately,” she says. “Those are the people that are beside you to support you and love you. I’ve really learned to watch what I say.”
