A video of a young teenage girl getting hit in the head with a shovel by another teenage girl went viral this week, and sparked rumors that the girl had died from her injuries.

‘Shovel Girl,’ as she is now known, is Miranda Fugate, who reportedly arranged to fight another girl one day, and her friends followed to mediate and record the 8-minute brawl. The long video was uploaded to YouTube, but has since been taken down. The video showed a group of teens walking around a field to find a place to have the fight. The girls in question exchange punches for a bit and then stop to chat before starting back up again. Neither of them appear too upset about whatever conflict spawned the fight – based on early dialogue in the video, which you can still watch here, it appears to be about a guy.

The fight ends when the unnamed girl grabs a shovel, stalking in Fugate’s direction. Fugate runs, and the girl throws the shovel at Fugate, hitting her square in the back of the head. Fugate collapses on the ground, her ear bleeding, and exclaims that she can’t hear. It’s this moment that was captured as a Vine and then proceeded to go viral.

In the vine, Fugate can be heard saying, “Oh s—t, okay, I’m out!” when the girl grabs the shovel.

Soon after the video hit the web, articles began popping up claiming that Miranda had later died as a result of head injuries, but Fugate took to Twitter to dispel the rumors. While it is possible that an imposter is running the Twitter account, it seems unlikely, as Fugate recently tweeted that she would share a photo to prove her identity when she gets home from school. Her Twitter bio reads, “I [heart] weed. 16 years old. Yes im the one that got hit with a shovel [sic].”
