VIDEO: Matthew McConaughey Film 'Killer Joe' Rated NC-17 For Graphic Sexuality
Indie film Killer Joe, starring Matthew McConaughey, has lost its appeal to the MPAA after receiving a rating of NC-17 for scenes involving drug use, nudity, violence and graphic sexuality, according to EW.com. The film, based on the play by Pulitzer Prize-winner Tracy Letts, will hit theaters on July 27.
Directed by William Friedkin (The Exorcist), Killer Joe stars McConaughey as a police officer who doubles as a hitman and falls for the sister of one of his clients. Emile Hirsch, Gina Gershon, Juno Temple and Thomas Haden Church also star.
