VIDEO: Mary J. Blige Sings New Single On 'American Idol'
How adorable was Mary J. Blige on American Idol this week? First, she turned up on Wednesday's Whitney/Stevie tribute episode to help spin the contestants' straw into gold. When a singer was bad, she couldn't help but slouch and grimace; but when a singer was good, she squealed with such glee that she had to abruptly apologize. How refreshing to see such honest reactions from a mentor!
Then on Thursday's episode, which sent Jeremy "Jer-Bear" Rosado home, Blige performed "Why," the latest single from her album My Life II . . . The Journey Continues (Act 1). "Why" is everything you want in a Blige hit — and she performed the heck out of it.
