True Blood’s sixth season is around the corner, after the HBO show premiered the upcoming season in Hollywood on Tuesday night with a red carpet and blood-themed after party. For those too eager to wait for Sunday night’s premiere of the hit vampire series, Uinterview has collected a number of leaked spoilers.

Humans are fighting back against the vampires in True Blood’s season 6, which will serve as the narrative arc for the entire season. “I would say this season is really the season of survival. You can make that joke with every season, but quite literally everyone is running for their lives,” True Blood star Lauren Bowles (Holly) told SheKnows. Bowles went on to tease that a new mythological species will be introduced in the upcoming season, although she stopped short of giving any more details about what they might be.

During the fight for survival, one of the beloved characters on True Blood won’t make it, Ryan Kwanton spilled to E! News. "It's heartbreaking," Kwanten, who plays Jason Stackhouse in the series, admitted. "I was actually quite surprised that we had survived as long as we have without any true main cast dying. It was tough; even in the table read when we knew that this character was going to go, there were tears galore."

While it remains unknown who the ill-fated character is, it is known that Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) will be different – and quite possibly far more dangerous, Moyer told Zap2it. After drinking the blood of the first vampire at the end of last season, Bill has gained a host of powers he’ll struggle to manage, which he may potentially use for evil.

True Blood’s premiere, titled “Who Are You, Really?,” is synopsized on the HBO website: “In the wake of Bill's (Moyer) blood-soaked reincarnation, Sookie (Anna Paquin), Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), Jason (Kwanten), Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), Tara (Rutina Wesley), Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Nora (Lucy Griffiths) flee the Authority compound as Sam (Sam Trammell), Luna (Janina Gavankar) and Emma (Chloe Noelle) dodge swarming guards. Now packmaster, Alcide (Joe Manganiello) discovers that the job comes with unsavory side dishes, but other major perks. In Bon Temps, Andy (Chris Bauer) deals with parenting four newborn human-faerie hybrids. Meanwhile, Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell (Arliss Howard) vows open season on vampires. Jessica returns to Compton Place as Jason hitches a ride with an eerie stranger.”

True Blood’s sixth season premiere will air on HBO on June 16 at 9/8c.
