SPOILERS: 'The Avengers' Villains, Plot Twists Revealed

As the countdown to Joss Whedon's The Avengers, starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Cobie Smulders, and Stellan Skarsgard, draws near, people are buzzing about what Marvel fans and comic book aficionados can expect at The Avengers debut, which many have dubbed one of the most anticipated films of the summer.

The latest spoilers reveal that the army villain Loki (played by Hiddleston from Thor) assembles to defeat the Avengers superheroes is comprised of a bunch of alien beings called the Chitauri — characters from the comic books who needed some fleshing out, and were consequently chosen by Whedon, reports ComicBookMovie.com.

In other spoilers, someone will die, someone will spend part of the film as a bad guy, and a new villain will be revealed at the end of the movie, according to Wired.com. Oh, and Harry Dean Stanton will have a cameo.
