Fox‘s The Simpson is scheduled to start this fall, and already there is a long list of celebrities who will be guest starring on the upcoming 27th season of the show. For starters, Bart Simpson will be having a new teacher, Mrs. Berrera, who is voiced by Sofia Vergara.

SOFIA VERGARA TO VOICE A NEW CHARACTER ON ‘THE SIMPSON’

After Bart drinks a milk substitute filled with bad hormones, he starts experiencing early signs of puberty and grows a little mustache— as well as feelings for Mrs. Berrera. “She’s more forgiving than Mrs. Krabappel was of Bart,” executive producer Al Jean told EW about the new resident of Springfield. “She pays special attention to him.”

Jean also hinted that both Bart and Principal Skinner develop a crush for Mrs. Berrera, which causes a small rivalry between the characters. “We thought it’d be interesting if both Bart and Skinner have a crush on the same woman,” Jean said. “She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of. She is a vet like Skinner, and that’s his attraction.”

Jean also added that Vergara, who stars in Modern Family, a show that is filmed in the same studio as The Simpsons, has the opportunity to return for future episodes. “We have a situation where Bart doesn’t have a regular teacher,” he said, in regards to Mrs. Krabappel’s death, who was played by Marcia Wallace who passed away in 2013, “so she may or may not come back.”

Vergara’s episode, titled “Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles,” is slated to air in the middle of season 27, which starts on Sept. 27.
