'Social Network' Producers Will Take On 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'
As soon as the concept of "mommy porn" had a chance to run wild with the emergence of E.L. James' soft-core bondage novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, studios, writers, and actors all started, at best, putting in their two cents about how a movie adaptation of the James novel should go, and, at worst, scrambling to cast their names into the speculation pile.
Universal Pictures in association with Focus Features were the lucky studios that nabbed the Fifty Shades of Grey rights, and now they have revealed, in a joint statement released on Monday, that Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, who produced 2010's acclaimed The Social Network about the rise of Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Rooney Mara and Armie Hammer, will team up again to produce the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, reports the Huffington Post.
More importantly, names that are piling up to play lead character Christian Grey include Hammer, Alexander Skarsgard, Chris Pine, Ryan Gosling and Michael Fassbender. Votes cast for Anastasia Steele have ranged from Dakota Fanning and Saoirse Ronan to Emma Stone and Elizabeth Olsen.
