"The exact cause of death is an accident due to the combined effects of hydrocodone and difluoroethane with carisoprodol," a source at the Harris County Institute of Forsensic Sciences told People magazine.

Hydrocodone is a component in pain killers, while carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant. Difluorethane in an inhalant, which can be found in common household products and huffed for the purposes of getting high.

When it was first learned that Bartusiak had died in her sleep at the Texas home she shared with her parents, it was believed that her death was somehow connected to her ongoing battle with epileptic seizures.

"We lost our girl,. She was a kind and really beautiful girl,” Bartusiak’s mother Helen McCole Bartusiak told CNN over the summer. “We think she had a seizure and choked and nobody was there. [Paramedics] were working on her for 45 minutes and could not get a heartbeat. I’ve done CPR on that kid more than one time and it just didn’t work this time.”
