Lorne Michaels' Saturday Night Live, which lost two of its nearest and dearest at the culmination of last season in Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, needs to make an impression upon returning for its 38th season premiere on September 15th, and what better way than to headline an adored comedian, an action hero and a fresh-blooded leading man in the first three episodes of its return? That's right — Family Guy and Ted's Seth MacFarlane will host the season premiere episode, followed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt of The Dark Knight Rises, 50/50, and Inception, and James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, in week three.

MacFarlane's first Saturday Night Live hosting stint ever will include musical guest Frank Ocean, reports the New York Times, while Gordon-Levitt will host for his second time with band Mumford & Sons, and Craig will debut as a host on the October 6 episode of SNL with Muse, the British rock band helmed by Kate Hudson hubby Matthew Bellamy, which wrote the official song for the 2012 Summer Olympics, at which Craig, dressed as Bond, parachuted in Queen Elizabeth.

People are already buzzing about the MacFarlane season premiere for a couple of reasons — first, the duration of some cast members' stays on SNL, like those of veterans Bill Hader and a Fred Armisen, are still uncertain, and they are slated to appear on the premiere. Secondly, MacFarlane, who has made a name for himself as a comedic writer and does tremendous voices (demonstrated by his voicing a variety of characters on Family Guy), might have some great impressions up his sleeve.

Saturday Night Live returns to NBC on September 15 for its 38th season.
