Sarah Hyland, who stars on ABC’s Modern Family, nearly outshone the stars of Cinderella at the live-action Disney film’s premiere in Hollywood Sunday night.

Hyland, 24, wore a black, asymmetrical embellished Naeem Khan satin dress that fell just above the knee. She completed the demure look with Tamara silver sandals by Brian Atwood. Hyland wore her light brown hair to one side in loose, bouncing waves.

“Sarah and I both have a deep fondness for all things Disney — especially Disney princesses,” makeup artist Allan Avendaño told HollywoodLife.com about Hyland’s look. “Since it’s the Cinderella premiere, I wanted to give her an ethereal look that would feel very princess with a bit of mystery.”

While walking the red carpet, Hyland took some time to pose with viral sensation Grumpy Cat, even mimicking the feline’s signature frown.

Hyland is best known for playing Haley Dunphy, the eldest child of Phil and Claire, on Modern Family. The up-and-coming actress recently completed work on feature See You in Valhalla, in which she stars alongside The Giver actress Odeya Rush.

See You in Valhalla is slated to hit theaters April 14.
