Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter Chelsea Found In New Jersey After Missing For A Week

Chelsea O’Donnell, Rosie O’Donnell‘s second oldest daughter, was found Tuesday after the actress and former TV personality revealed that she had been missing for a week.

O’Donnell confirmed that Chelsea had been found in a tweet Tuesday night. “Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody,” she wrote. “Thank you for all the help and light.”

Also grateful for Chelsea being found were O’Donnell’s ex-wife and co-parent Kelli Carpenter and Carpenter’s current wife Anne Steele. Both Carpenter and Steele took to Facebook to express their thanks and relief that the 17-year-old was found safe and sound.

Police in Barnegat Township, N.J., found Chelsea, who suffers from an undisclosed mental illness, at around 6 p.m. Tuesday, Officer Neil O’Sullivan of the South Nyack-Grand View, N.Y., Police Department told the Los Angeles Times. According to O’Sullivan, Chelsea and her terrier Bear were “both safe and uninjured.” South Nyack officers were en route to pick up both Chelsea and Bear last night.

Earlier on Tuesday, O’Donnell released a statement to alert the public that her daughter and her therapy dog had not been seen since Aug. 11. “Rosie O’Donnell’s 17 year old daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell was reported missing,” the statement read on Rosie.com. “Nyack, New York police authorities have been looking for her in the Rockland County area since Sunday, August 16. She was last seen Tuesday, August 11.”

O’Donnell adopted Chelsea with her first wife Kelli Carpenter, with whom she also had Blake and Vivienne O’Donnell. The actress and former talk show host is also a mother to adopted son Parker, her eldest, and 2-year-old daughter Dakota from her marriage to Michelle Rounds.
