Rob Kardashian, 29, the only son of Kris Jenner, was hospitalized and diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes over the weekend. Kardashian has been out the spotlight since his 100 pound weight gain. The reality star, who has also been battling depression over the past few years, was rushed to the hospital after not feeling well. Kardashian revealed he had no idea he was diabetic.

Kardashian might have also been diagnosed with ketoacidosis, which is characterized by a high concentration of ketone bodies, which are formed by the breakdown of fatty acid and deamination of amino acids, TMZ reports. This condition can lead to very serious side effects, including death. Both conditions are treatable by engaging in a healthier lifestyle.

The family’s popular show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has also shed some light on the family’s concern for Rob. Sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian have tried different methods to help their brother. Kim proposed gorging on fattening foods. The plan backfired when Rob continued to gain more weight. Khloe also offered her training services and even a personal chef.

Khloe voiced her concern in an interview with People magazine back in October. “He’s charming, charismatic, everything,” she said. “That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live life? Let’s be around people!’ ”

Kardashian has also missed multiple appearances on the show due to the media obsession with his weight gain, including his sister Kim’s wedding to Kanye West in 2014.

Earlier this year, it was rumored that Rob was going to make a comeback with the help of celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson. Rob had shed 15 pounds with the workouts and personalized eating plans.

E! News reports that Rob is back home after being hospitalized.
